The ALSO Out Youth Drop-In Center offers a variety of positive youth activities, life skills training, and support services. It is handicapped accessible and conveniently located on a bus route for those utilizing public transportation. Click on our Calendar button at right for upcoming events at ALSO.

24-hr Crisis Hotline

ALSO Out Youth addresses the need for after-hours crisis support through our youth crisis hotline, 941-544-7016. All people who carry the hotline cellphone are trained in keeping confidentiality, dealing with emotionally tense issues, and just being a friendly ear and voice for youth who need someone to talk to.

The hotline staff/volunteers also carry a referral list of groups, agencies, and individuals who have identified themselves as open to helping GLBTQ youth.

Here youth can engage in social activities, educational programs, and peer support groups in a safe, welcoming environment.

The ALSO Out Youth Drop-In Center is a drug- and alcohol-free place where youth engage in social activities, educational programs and peer support groups. Our 1600 square-foot facility is a safe and welcoming environment. We have computers, a library, audio/visual equipment and a relaxing atmosphere to do homework, read, watch a movie, play games, talk, or just hang out with friends.

All events/times subject to change based on special events, staff coverage, and availability. Please contact us to verify event times and dates.

1:00~5:00pm: Watch a DVD, use the computer, or just hang out Tuesday through Friday!

5:00~6:00pm: Peer Support Group (Please RSVP if possible!)

1:00~5:00pm: Watch a DVD, use the computer, or just hang out Tuesday through Friday!

Once per month: 5:00~7:00pm: Movie and Pizza night (Please RSVP if possible!)
