What is the ALSO Youth Prom?
The ALSO Youth Prom is a FREE annual alternative prom dedicated to LGBTQ+ youth, friends, and allies ages 14 to 20. The 2024 ALSO Youth Prom: Under the Sea will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium! Registration is open now!
What Should I Wear?
The theme this year is Under the Sea!
Of course, we are required to say that attire should be appropriate for a high school prom, but that doesn't mean you should not get creative. There will be a prize for the attendee whose outfit best fits the theme, so attendees are encouraged to go all out!

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
The ALSO Youth Prom is open to LGBTQ+ youth and their friends and allies ages 14 through 20. Current state, school, or government-issued ID is required to enter the prom. If you don't have access to either of these, please email info@alsoyouth.org to discuss other options!
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Sarasota Municipal Auditorium is centrally located near downtown Sarasota. Busses stop nearby, parent drop-offs are welcome, and there is plenty of parking at the event for those who wish to carpool or drive themselves.
What can I bring in to the event?
The ALSO Youth Prom is a drug and alcohol-free event. All bags must be checked at the door and will be securely kept in a bag with your name on it behind our registration table. We encourage checking your phone in your bag to protect the privacy of other attendees. We request if you use your phone for photos that you respect the privacy of others in posting and sharing event pictures/videos. There will be a photo booth and prints of those photos will be available to attendees.

Is it okay if the name on ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
When you register for Prom, we ask for both legal and preferred names due to security and to keep all attendees safe. The registered name must match the photo ID upon arrival of the event. That being said, ALSO Youth prioritizes your identity! Please include your preferred name in the appropriate section of the registration form so we can ensure our team refers to you properly.
