0–99: The Art of a Rainbow Life: Still Here, Still Becoming
Celebrate the creativity of our youth artists whose work will be featured in 0–99: The Art of a Rainbow Life: Still Here, Still Becoming, an intergenerational exhibition celebrating LGBTQ+ lives and stories.
This project represents a wonderful collaboration between ALSO Youth, Senior Friendship Centers, Project Pride SRQ, Fabulous Arts Foundation, Sarasota Art Museum, The Johnson Singer Arts & Education Fund, and the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County.
This expansive cultural event is uniquely presented across two of the region's premier creative hubs:
Sarasota Art Museum: Experience the first chapter of this visual journey, filling both the Community Galleryand McGuire Hall with breathtaking scope.
Fabulous Arts Foundation: Continue the conversation at the 925 Maddox Gallery & LGBTQ+ Center, where community, advocacy, and art seamlessly intersect.
Whether you are 9 or 99, this exhibition invites you to witness the power of living authentically and colorfully. Come celebrate the art of survival, the joy of community, and the endless beauty of who we are still becoming.
Camping is IN TENTS!
Join ALSO Youth for an overnight trip to Oscar Scherer State Park on Saturday, October 17. We’ll camp in tents, share campfire tales and ghost stories, sing classic camp songs, and make plenty of s’mores.
The trip is open to youth ages 16+ and youth ages 10–15 with an accompanying adult. The cost will be covered, and we’re working to provide camping gear for anyone who needs it.

ALSO Youth
ALSO Youth was created in 1992 by individuals who were alarmed at the statistics documenting high rates of suicide among gay and lesbian teens. In cooperation with other local organizations such as Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG); Planned Parenthood; and YMCA Youth and Family Services, volunteers were recruited to conduct a support group for Sarasota area youth. Upon realizing that more comprehensive services were needed throughout the community, ALSO’s founders initiated contact with school officials and implemented a training program for educators. The types of services and numbers of youth and community members served have steadily increased.
